Educational Events

I am sure you are good at something or at least interested in a field. You can find events in Boston based on your interested to educate or improve yourself. Basically, you will be searching for people who have similar interests like you. It is not hard, you don't have to be shy, and it is too much fun. You will be meeting new people, mostly professionals, and you can learn from them. You can kill two birds with one stone; network with people and learn from them. I am not even including the benefit of it as a social experience. Let's look at Julio's example to learn from him:

"My friend Julio, from Spain, came to Boston 3 months ago. His English is intermediate level. He is comfortable in speaking with his international friends but hesitate to speake with native English speakers. He is 17 years old, and he has an interest in Public Relations. He wants to have an idea of how things work in USA. He wants to see how businesses use social media to improve their businesses. Julio comes to my website, checks out the Microsoft Nerd Center's link to see the events. He finds an event about "Effective Use of Social Media". He clicks on the link and registers online. Guess what? The event is for free, and they even offer free pizza to participants! As most of other events, all the information about the event is posted online. He checks google maps to learn how to get there with public transportation. Then, Julio attends to an event which he really wanted. And, he is happy that everything was so easy. He just spent 30 minutes on the web to find out all the information."

What sort of subjects can you expect to learn in this type of events?

Most of these events are for free. Educational events are great opportunities to network and get out of your shell while learning a new subject. There are plenty of groups and organizations support/provide free teaching events in Boston, and they are very good.
